Post-Performance Winding Down...

After a show, I like to spend time noodling about the information superhighway that is the Internet, looking for random stuff, Facebooking, Skyping with family. Sometimes, said noodling brings about fun little discoveries, like this Caricature Map of Europe in 1914:

Actually, that's from a steampunk sci-fi book called "Leviathan," which re-imagines WWI as a fight between nations (on one side) that had adopted technology as their way forward, and nations (on the other side) that had harnessed genetic engineering for the same goals. It's a decent read.

Funny map. Did you know that Norway and Sweden are represented by trolls (those supernatural creatures of Scandinavian folklore) drawn by John Bauer. Just in case you didn't know about John Bauer I am almost sure that you will like to make acquaintance with his art. David
